 Saturday, June 5, 2010 : BiotechPole® Sidi Thabet Hosts the 2nd National Workshop on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants
The morning of Saturday June 05, 2010, the second National Workshop on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants was held at BiotechPole® Sidi Thabet, the first one having been organized on February 08 and 09, 2010 at the Arid Regions Institute of Medenine. |

These two meetings permitted, besides the scientific exchanges and the meetings between colleagues, to propose the creation of a Research Consortium under the terms of Decree 2009-644 and a Medicinal Plants Network in the objective to sustain the efforts of all actors (producers, harvesting, researchers, laboratories, industrialists, etc) in order to improve the quality of their products to better meet requirements and market needs. | |

Leaders and researchers working in academic institutions, research centers and professional organizations related participated in this workshop.

In the setting of the preparation of the next summit "Tunisia - European Union", a guided visit to the R&D potential of BiotechPole® Sidi Thabet is organized, June 2, 2010, to the profit of journalists group from various European countries (Bulgaria, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia), and this, in coordination with the Tunisian External Communication Agency. | |

The objective aimed of the group visit in Tunisia is to allow them to know about the Tunisian economic development and the mechanisms and advantages that have succeeded to a Tunisian industry to high added value.

BiotechPole® Sidi Thabet hosted Thursday, May 20, 2010, an African delegation from Ivory Cost and Guinea, composed of seven researchers and representatives of their respective ministries and accompanied by the Principal Advisor of the Intellectual Property World Organization and a representative from the National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property. |

During this study visit, the guests had the opportunity to know more about the Tunisian experience in the establishment of the first Technopark in the country dedicated to biotechnologies applied to health and pharmaceutical and parapharmaceutical industries.
