One hundred and six industrial areas are distributed on all the territory with a surface of 3350 hectares and are equipped with many conveniences. A program on the adjustment of 642 hectares distributed on 18 areas of which 11 coastal areas and 7 interior areas are planned over the period 2002-2006.
Free-trade area with the European Union
Since January 1st, 2008, Tunisia constitutes a free-trade area with the European Union for the industrial products, becoming thus the 1st country of the strand south of the Mediterranean to put a free-trade area in place with the EU: The implantation in Tunisia permits to reach the biggest market to the world, the European market and to several markets of this space Too.
